Hopestay - Crisis Accommodation For Young Women

A partnership between NewHope Care and Youth For Christ

Hopestays mission is to:

• demonstrate God's love to hurting young women who for various reasons are unable to live at home, by providing a secure home with loving support and supervision
• help disadvantaged young women to develop skills in independent living
• provide support and development to young women in the following areas:
  • settle into school
  • find employment
  • receive counselling for various issues
  • budgeting, health, general housekeeping, day to day organising of their lives
• encourage an eventual move to independent living
• share the hope and knowledge of God and help young women come to a personal relationship with God
• encourage the residents to attend NewHope Baptist Church and join in with the relevant church activities; create positive links within the church community

Partnering With Habitat For Humanity

Habitat For Humanity's mission is to demonstrate God's love in action by mobilizing partner families, volunteers and partners to provide appropriate housing solutions in sustainable communities. See the Habitat For Humanity website for more information.

Partnering With Jubilee housing

Jubilee Housing began in 1986 as an initiative of Box Hill and NewHope Baptist churches. Both churches contributed financially to the building of the first ten units at Jubilee Place in Box Hill.

The aim of Jubilee housing is to increase the supply of social housing for local low income households and to develop a locally responsive housing management for tenants.

Jubilee housing manages the following 3 complexes:

• Jubilee Place - 10 units located in Box Hill
• Figtree Lane - 10 units located in Burwood
• Emmaus Community - 19 units located in Bayswater Nth
• Each complex comprises a mix of 1, 2, 3, & 4 bedroom units.
