Families news…
At this time of the year when we can sometime feel like we are dragging our heels and may be in need of a bit of a ‘pick me up’, let me aim to spur you on, friends!
And what better way to begin than in God’s word.
1 Thess 1:11-12 says “For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to LIVE LIVES WORTHY OF GOD, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.”
For me, this has 2 simple elements for today…
1) As parents, we are reminded to comfort and encourage our children and continually point their eyes and hearts toward God in ALL circumstances.
2)Our loving Heavenly Father calls US to have our eyes firmly focused on him and spend time with Him – everyday and to live lives worthy of God.
Tuesday Night Prayer
in the Function room – 7.30pm onwards. 8.30pm is a time to specifically come and receive prayer or just have some time in His presence. I always come away feeling refreshed and uplifted from Tuesday night prayer.

Hot Tip
It is so great to celebrate and honor family members at special times. Purchase a red plate. When someone in your family has done something significant or celebrated a special occasion or just needs a little ‘we love you and think you’re great’ boost, why not serve their evening meal on the red plate and make a fuss of them. Term 3
Marriage Celebration in Church
On Sunday September 12, to coincide with ‘Marriage Week’ we will be doing some special things to highlight , enrich and celebrate marriage in each of the Sunday services. You will receive invites to pass onto friends or family members over the next couple of weeks(‘cos we want to share the blessing!).
Child Free Coffee Night
After the success of our last coffee night, we will hold the next one at the home of Murray and Heather Aeschlimann on Saturday October 16 at 8pm. This is a child free event. Meet new friends from NewHope, connect in, invite others along.

Term 4
Pizza in the park.
Put Saturday November 6 in your family diary now. The families team are putting together a ‘pizza in the park’ afternoon. More fun and opportunities to get to know people from NewHope.
Family Camp
On June 3-5 2011 we will be able to enjoy a wonderful family camp. It will be held at CYC, The Island Campsite in Cowes. It is going to be AWESOME, affordable and loads of fun. Stay tuned for more info to follow in a few months time. Thanks
Needing help
*for someone to help with driving the church bus (no special license required – on Friday afternoon and Saturday evening for some ministry assistance – may suit a retiree or a uni student with some tome to spare.
Prayer For Families
We would like to offer confidential, mutual prayer support to parents with serious concerns for their children’s health, spiritual situation, emotional needs, or any other concern.

Mainly music is held here at NewHope on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The groups meet from 10am – 11.30. It is a music programme for parents to bring their under school age children to and participate in together.
The music component runs for 30 minutes with morning tea and social time after that.
We have loads of fun together and it’s a lovely place to meet friends.
There is often a wait list for the groups.)
